§ 6.08.01. Excluded Portions of Buildings

Except as specifically provided herein, the height limitations of this Code shall not apply to the following portions of buildings:

A.

Roof structures for housing elevators, stairways, tanks, ventilating fans, solar energy collectors and similar equipment to operate and maintain the building, provided such structures cover no more than 20 percent of the roof area and extend no more than ten feet above the roof.

B.

Fire or parapet walls, provided such walls extend no more than five feet above the roof.

C.

Architectural features of buildings such as spires, steeples, belfries, cupolas, domes, monuments, skylights and flagpoles.

D.

Cranes temporarily mounted on buildings during construction.
